| Desoto landed in charlotte harbor and disembarked in two spots with him getting off with a forward party at the junction of the Myaka and Peace rivers on the Myaka side. He made "friends" with these natives (not something he did often). He had a small army with 5oo animals including 250 horses with him. It was a small village. www.floridahistory.com |
